Chris’s songs have the sticky “it” factor. I find my mind repeating choruses and melodies hours even days later. His voice is a strong blend of grunge era roots and more contemporary singer/songwriters like Jack Johnson and Dave Mathews, but powerfully his own. This project is on the darker side of the masculine angst of love and loss. Chris Jaden’s singing and songwriting abilities mesh well producing music which captures depth of emotion and uniquely expresses his message. Well written lyrics, sung with strength and outpouring heart, accompanied with acoustic guitar make this album a mellow but intense listen.

My third book of poetry, "Love Lush" was recently edited and laid out for print by Tom Boyle of www.tombwriter.com.  Tom edited and laid out my first two books as well "Philosopher Stoned-Incarcerated" released summer 2007,and "Philosopher Stoned-Recovered" summer 2009.

"Love Lush" is a book of poetry edited from writings and notes from the last book release in 2009.  It seems I am putting out a new book every two years!  Interesting.

"Love Lush" is by far my most mature writing.  It's strength is throughout rather than moments from time to time like in the first two books.  This book is the first book I actually feel is at a level of "professional" poetry.  It feels like my first really serious release as far as expectations of poetry books go.

Many of the writings were inspired by specific events but apply universally to my life experience, who I am, and what can be generally relative to anyone.  Zayra Yves is a poet who inspired and encouraged my writing throughout much of this book.  She wrote a terrific forward to "Love Lush" I am grateful for.  Check her out at www.zayrayves.com.

My girl friend Nina Cash took the cover picture of her lips after I obsessed crazily over their perfect shape and beauty.  It was a no brainer cover for this project.  She has inspired me to step up to the man I could be, and for that and everything else, I am most grateful!

Journaling has been an activity I have benefited from greatly throughout my life.  There are times I journal regularly first thing in the mornings upon waking.  The book "The Artists Way" taught me this.  I have also journaled much throughout periods of my life different times of day.  Typically, I have journaled by hand.  I have nearly 100 journalls completed!  I now take some of my Journaling online to add content and personality to my website.

Funny thing is that even though I have written thousands of pages by hand my penmanship is atrocious!  Having written so much you would think I would be able to spell well, but I cannot.

I could benefit from reading regularly, but rarely feel like reading.  Writing has become enough of a lost practice for me as anything.  I hope this journal section of my website will help motivate me to write more freely and regularly.

I hope all is well with you and yours!

You are fascination

my creature

Love drug/hate drugs.

Getting high is as much a lie as anything out of context.

We enter each others bodies

as warmth that bleeds through the barriers of this world

of this body.

I built a home for my past

to dwell longer than leased

until present tense sprung thought a leak

as the grey matter of my brain

becomes a cosmic Event Horizon

turning everything on it's self

and into nothing we know.

No longer spellbound manically

(though the experience

continues to become me)

I ran to the hills

to hide under the Milky Way

obscured from you by the canopy of city lights.

She sweats, smells of music memories.

I want to call you something else

less cautious

though you crept up upon me

like shadows of paranoia.

Facebook has reached the point of no return.  Critical mass has been achieved.  As Fabeook once again upsizes their facilities we will see them begin to struggle to hold on to what this movement was all about as everything eventually sells out.

I get more invites to events these days than anything else. I also get more group post updates than I know what to do with, and groups I don't post in! Yes, I can filter these, but it's just a sign of what is really going on out there. It's only a matter of time before you get people together before the object becomes money oriented. Since when did worthless paper become the most valued need for survival?  Since the industrial revolution when man became capable of producing much more material than needed?

I'm not innocent either, I have abused facebook to promote myself, especially my last book/album release in September of 2009. www.tavius.org LOL!  And I am doing it again right now. (Buy my t shirts, books, or music!)

The other sign facebook may have seen its best days are more and more people seem to be using fake names like on Myspace.  This seemed to be an imporrtant factor in facebook's initial popularity. People were connecting more with people they actually knew and were more capable of finding people they once knew.

Many people see the information, but less and less actual interaction seems to be happening. It's like we are all looking at each other but too afraid or lazy to share ourselves about it : (  More often, I fight for the actual full attention of others, or fail to provide it to the people I am actually with in person over "social networking" especially via the advent of "smart" phones. Is social Networking causing an antisocial society!

The college class that ended my pursuit of a degree in philosophy due to it's idiocy did give me one important distinction, the distinction between what we perceive versus what we conceive. Simply put, what we perceive is external to us, and is "taken in" by our senses (taste, touch, smell, sight, hearing) where it then becomes conceived as an idea or thought symbolic of the perceived world we all share. The world we perceive is the only reality we all share. The world we conceive is subjective to each and every individual. It is symbolic of perceived external reality based on the meaning we attribute to things and the story we tell ourselves. We attempt to share subjective realities through communication or signs and sounds symbolic of perceived or shared reality. My main concern with communication is that technology has made modes of communication more accessible but also with less and less information from the perceived external reality we all share. For instance, it is said that body language makes up most of what we communicate. There is intonation, inflection and the like as well. So interpersonal communication exists only in person with 100% potential shared external reality with the symbolic, or language, being the only veil between fully experiencing the meaning of anything. Here is where I am concerned. Let's take the popular trend in texting for communication. Typically, texts are short with as little information as possible to get the point across. However, the pixels illuminating the letters that become words are missing most of the information needed to communicate (body language, intonation, inflection, ect.). So we are rapidly communicating with less tangible shared reality of the senses in the moment, and instead reducing everything down to as few symbols and sounds possible. What then do we do with all that missing information? Well, we fill in the gaps by attributing meaning to things and creating the story we tell ourselves. However, this story is based on almost no real information, nothing tangibly shared in our perceived existences. We have become so symbolic that we think we are our thoughts and miss much of the experience of existence in the moment feeling connected with the surrounding environment and the people in proximity.
