Meteor Shower
We momentarily
Scarred the face of the firmament
Constellations that collided
Shot down from the sky
Meteors plummet to earth
Yearn impact
Scatter and become everything
Even the air we breathe
Becoming breath
Exhalation showers
Particle chaos
No paint upon our fingers
Feeling each other’s smooth skin
Until entangled lovers
Splayed bodies
Like paint brushes
Upon taunt bed sheets
Depicting murals of madness in motion
We descended into the seas
Of our bodies
Discovered the lost city of Atlantis
Walked hand in hand
Down her alustruous isles
Until illumination grew wings
Half angels Half animals
We ascended unstained sheets
Born again as the children we are
Shared music in headphones
Split
Like high school best friends
The necklace around my neck
Pulled to a point
By a silver cross
Rubbed back and forth
Across your face
And nose
And mouth
As we danced
Shooting stars
God did not come between us
Rather
Distilled
All that was us
Into spirits
Drunk
On the ecstasies of enlightenment
Having finally found formlessness
Descent in dance
Rain on water
Singularity
Without separateness
Despite your having left me
My fantasy still fantasy
Unpainted
